Back during the waning days of the Obama presidency, LU legal analyst Hans Bader wrote an interesting post about the government’s double standards when it comes to freedom of speech. As an example of this hypocrisy, Hans wrote:

Rulings of the National Labor Relations Board force employers to tolerate racist, sexist, and obscene abuse by strikers against non-striking co-workers. By contrast, a conservative college student was recently arrested for offensive expression towards progressive students that was protected by the First Amendment.

The “do what I say, not what I do” approach to policy has stayed with the Democrats even now, when control of the executive and legislative branches has fallen into the hands of the “enemy.”

Consider a pair of tweets by Democratic fundraiser Scott Dworkin, who was a bundler during both Obama campaigns and is now on the Advisory Boards for the New Leaders Council and Democratic GAIN.
