Dumbest political ad of Super Bowl LI

Another Super Bowl (read: media event that is marginally about football) has come and gone, and so have the commercials that advertisers fight so hard to over-spend on. This year, those determined to hawk their goods or services paid $166,667 per second.

On the political front, without which the Super Bowl wouldn’t be the Super Bowl, halftime attraction Lady Gaga let down liberals by not politicizing the evil that is the Trump administration. The New England Patriots did their share to deflate left-leaning spirits by winning the game in an unprecedented comeback in overtime.

Which leaves us with those commercials. As NewsBusters observes, a number of this year’s contenders promoted liberal themes. You’re free to watch them all, if you have nothing better to do, but for my money need could take a more vapid shot at the president than this one.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The product being peddled is a product ungrammatically named “Its [sic] a 10 Haircare.” But punctuation is the least of the ad’s problems. The 30-second spot begins with the lament “We’re in for at least four years of awful hair.”

There are plenty of things the Left can and will attack Donald Trump for. If the best they can do is ridicule his hairdo, then we are indeed in for four long years.
