It’s hard to know what to say about this spectacle, other than that it has to make any person of sense and judgment profoundly sad.
If you haven’t taken the time to view some of the video footage of the protracted protest meltdown that started Friday, and continues in Washington, D.C. today, please do so now. It’s disquieting to see people in the throes of cult madness, but it’s important to understand that they’re not acting rationally. Nothing they are doing has any hope of achieving a logical effect. It’s like a mass tantrum being thrown by an institutionalized mental patient.
Rather than saving it for the end, I’m going to start out with a reaction tweet to Greta Thunberg’s speech at the UN Climate Summit on Monday. It summarizes perfectly what this is about.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

No, it’s not about the Nobel prize. It’s about making “everyone there ashamed of themselves.”
It’s about trying to soften everyone up with imputed shame, so that we’ll all become hopelessly defensive and manipulable. It’s about ruling our fellow men that way.
It’s horrifying to see children used as a weapon for this enterprise. No one owes anybody anything on this basis, and no one ever will. What an awful lie to feed to children: that living by accusation and eternally sworn unforgiveness is the summit of virtue. That’s teaching children to destroy themselves.
No wonder it produces nothing but the tweeted video vignettes below. There’s a transcript of Greta Thunberg’s address here, if you need it.

At a certain point, you have to cut line and speak the truth: there is no common ground with cult insanity. There is no obligation to “compromise” with this – there’s no basis for compromise!
None of it is young Greta Thunberg’s fault. She’s an overmanipulated child (who reportedly has Asperger’s and an anxiety disorder). But one thing is crystal clear: this isn’t “science.”
