Ruth Bader Ginsburg turned 83 on March 15. The mention of her age is not meant to imply that she has taken leave of her faculties. But she is quoted in a tweet by Adam White of the Hoover Institution that is generating some buzz.
The money part of the tweet, which follows, is a quote in which the Supreme Court justice ponders the imponderable in the upcoming presidential election:
I can’t imagine what this place would be like — what this country would be like — with Donald Trump as our president. For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.
Here’s the tweet, followed by some of the reactions so far:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
@morningmoneyben No, Ginsburg was speaking for herself before mentioning her late husband. pic.twitter.com/QqLdOqY8l8

@adamjwhitedc @morningmoneyben If Trump is elected this seems to be cause for her to recuse herself from any SCOTUS cases on his watch.

@adamjwhitedc @morningmoneyben WHAT THE OLD WITCH IS SAYING: THAT WITH TRUMP: WE WILL GET CONSTITUTIONALISTS. NOT COMMUNISTS. HURRAH!

@adamjwhitedc @morningmoneyben NEW ZEALAND IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. VERY FEW JEWS. WOULD PREFER IT TO REMAIN THAT WAY. NO USURY.

@adamjwhitedc @morningmoneyben Ginsberg was appointed by Clinton, so of course she would back the corrupt criminal Hillary! Pathetic.
