Shocking footage of Dallas police officer being shot at point-blank range

Horrifying video from Thursday night’s shooting in Dallas shows a police officer attempting to take down a gunman, only to be outflanked by the shooter and shot at point-blank range.

The footage was obtained by the local Fox4 station. On the right side is a police officer, appearing to take cover behind a column while attempting take down a gunman. On the left side is the gunman himself. As the police officer tries to work his way around one side of the column , the gunman moves aggressively, running to the other side and catching the officer from behind. The officer is dropped by what appears to be several shots at extremely close range. (Warning: Extremely graphic.)

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

It isn’t immediately clear when the video in question was recorded, nor is it known whether the officer survived or was one of four officers thus far who are confirmed dead.
