Meet the curious new face of Louis Vuitton’s women’s wear collection

The secret’s out of the bag. Or maybe I should have written “out of the closet.”

An Instagram message by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicholas Ghesquiere has unmasked the new face of the upscale designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 women’s apparel collections.

No, it’s not Bruce Jenner, who thinks of himself as a female. It’s Jaden Smith, who may or may not think of himself as a woman (it varies with his mood), but who enjoys dressing up like one regardless.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Smith, the 17-year-old son of Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, “has become known for his eccentric, ‘genderless’ fashion choices,” writes the Daily Mail.

The new ad campaign sees Jaden as the sole male featured alongside several female models, all posing on a sidewalk.

Just one of the girls: Jaden Smith (right) sporting his “genderless” fashions.

Jaden pairs a metal-embroidered skirt with a fringed white top and a retro leather moto jacket, topping the look off with a pair of glovelets and loafers.

Over the last year the older brother to recording artist Willow Smith has revealed that he has a penchant for wearing women’s clothing, and has been seen sporting skirts and dresses on a regular basis.

“I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself,” [Smith] said.

It remains to be seen whether adherents to the Vuitton brand — the designer is best known for his pricey handbags — will warm to the idea of a dude parading around in Vuitton’s duds. It’s also not clear whether the line of leather items designated as “for women” on the company website, will be rebranded as “for him and her.”
