NOI nutjob Louis Farrakhan: ‘We need to take down the American flag, too’

While speaking at the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan joined the controversy over the flag. But it’s not the Confederate flag that had Farrakhan in a tailspin. It was none other than Old Glory, radio station WMAL reported.

“We need to put the American flag down,” he said after declaring that America doesn’t care about the nine people killed in a historic black Charleston church.

Sure enough, Farrakhan wasted no time attacking the U.S. flag. “We need to put the American flag down,” he said after telling his audience America doesn’t care about the nine people killed in a historic black Charleston church.

“What flag do the police have?” he asked rhetorically. “What flag flies over the ‘non-Justice’ Department? What flag flies over the White House where a black man lives that’s called [expletive deleted] every day?” His angry comments were met with wild cheers and applause.

“We fought in wars under that flag,” he continued. “And came back and were hung and were murdered and brutalized under that flag.”

“Well now,” he said, lowering his voice, “we’re gonna pull the flag down.” He went on to tell the audience it’s “as easy as pulling your pants down.”

“We want justice under that flag,” he added. “What the hell is the use of us paying allegiance to a flag under which we get no justice?” he asked.

This isn’t the first time Farrakhan has been captured on audio making incendiary comments. About a month ago, audio emerged of the outspoken leader issuing a dire warning to anyone “physically” confronting his group: “We will kill you all.” Last November, he called for violence to “tear” the country apart over Ferguson. According to Farrakhan, violence was justified because authorities failed to indict former officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of Michael Brown.

Nor is the only person to suggest violent insurrection. As we reported Wednesday, former New Black Panther boss Malik Zulu Shabazz suggested blacks in Charleston need to “finish the mission” started by Denmark Vesey, an abolitionist and former slave who led a failed slave revolt in 1822.

“Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill all the slave masters in the state,” he said.

Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill every last one of them and kill all of their [expletive deleted] families. We’re out of Denmark Veseys. And we need some new Denmark Veseys today.

It’s enough to make one think liberals really do want a second civil war in America.

Farrakhan’s tirade, meantime,` comes several days after radio host made a prediction on air:

The next flag that will come under assault, and it will not be long, is the American flag. Do not look at me that way. It makes perfect sense. If you take a look at the timeline of progressive events, their speed and rapidity with which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions, if you don’t think the American flag’s in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider.
