U.N. comes out with ’70s-style climate song: ‘Love-a-Lution RIGHT NOW!’ (Audio)

This sounds so much like a joke that I had to check the URL several times. Indeed the link to the newsroom of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is real, and so is the “Climate Song for Paris COP 21,” aka “Love-a-Lution RIGHT NOW!”

According to the site, the song was written (by one Diana Lindley) and performed (by Lindley and others) to mark last September’s communist-sound People’s Climate March through the streets of Manhattan.

Ironically, back in the 1970s when songs like this were routinely recorded (a prime example being Stephen Stills’s “Love the One You’re With”), human-made global cooling was widely viewed as the threat to the planet’s existence.

The sound track appears below. The lyrics, should you want to sing along, follow.

Come,
Come,
Join this Love-a-lution
Warriors heed
The calling of your hearts
Come,
Come,
Be part of the solution
Wherever you are …
It’s the place to start
Come on, come on, come on, come on
RIGHT NOW!
Come on, come on, come on

Whoever you are
Young or old
Rich or poor
Male or female
Climate change affects everyone
It is the human rights issue of all time
It is the single biggest threat to human health and security
Wherever you live
No matter what country
You must assert your rights as citizens

‘Cause climate safety
Is a human right
The time has come
For the world to unite
We need to
TAKE ACTION – RIGHT NOW

This is a government policy issue …
The fate of ALL people is at stake!
Decisions that are being made by world leaders
Will decide the future of life on Earth.
According to the latest science,
We must ACT NOW
To begin our transition
To a 100 percent carbon-free
Clean energy economy.
To ensure our future …
We can and must
Decrease our carbon emissions
Starting NOW!
We absolutely must
STOP burning fossil fuels
In the coming decades
Humanity has fallen
Out of balance
With Natural laws…

Grandmother Turtle is
Gonna lead the way
Guide us to a better day
Her back is strong and wide enough.
