CNN warns viewers they will hear (earmuff, kiddies!) the national anthem

There must be a hall of fame for miscues like this.

The Daily Caller caught CNN literally warning viewers they were about to hear an “excerpt of the national anthem.”  The warning appeared on TV screens following a commercial break, and just prior to a segment in which a sailor mom surprised her daughter at school.

The bonus?  The segment was originally from the Fox affiliate in Indianapolis.  As Daily Caller notes, “The video itself includes kids singing and waving American flags.”

CNN called the warning an “error,” and — after being queried by Daily Caller — removed it from the video of the segment posted online.

Maybe tone-deaf “errors” like this one have something to do with CNN’s relentless ratings slide.
