If there is one thing more revolting than State Department spokes-hack Jen Psaki’s perpetual grin, it’s her willingness to go out before the press every day and lie through her ever-visible pearly whites. It’s easy to do, of course, when she is standing at her podium where it’s her word against the word of the press pool.
It’s different when she ventures out into the world of television, where there is access to video recordings that can catch her out in a lie. Psaki learned this the hard way when she agreed to appear last week on Megyn Kelly’s show on Fox News Channel. When Kelly noted that Obama had boasted about how he pulled all U.S. forces from Iraq, the ever-smirking Psaki said it wasn’t true. Then Kelly played a video from the Oct. 22, 2012 presidential, which left Psaki speechless and momentarily smirkless.
Here is the transcript of the exchange between Mitt Romney and Obama via Gateway Pundit:
Mitt Romney: In regards to Iraq, you and I agreed, I believe that there should have been a status of forces agreement… Oh, you didn’t want a status of forces agreement?
Barack Obama: No, what I would not have done was left 10,000 troops in Iraq that would tie us down. That certainly would not help us in the Middle East.
