John Kerry tells U.N. to fight ISIS ‘to save math for the little kids’

Yesterday was Secretary of State John Kerry’s big chance to sell the world on the Obama’s strategy for “degrading and ultimately defeating” ISIS. Instead, Kerry succeeded in degrading the high cabinet position with which he was foolishly entrusted and mocking the U.S. at the same time.

The occasion was a speech at the United Nations. As he neared the end of his prepared remarks, which were designed to rally other nations to become part of Obama’s currently-anemic coalition, Kerry said this:

And finally there is an urgent need to counter the poisonous propaganda, and gross distortion of Islam that ISIL is spreading far and wide. It is time to put an end to a group so extreme and its rejection of modernity that it bans math and social studies for children. It’s time to put an end to the sermons by extremists that brainwash young men to these terrorist groups and commit atrocities in name of God. [Emphasis added]

Seriously? His best reason for fighting ISIS  is that it bans the teaching of math and social studies for kids. Is Kerry really unaware that this murderous horde is beheading children. Does the lantern-jawed secretary not know that you can’t do multiplication tables without a head?

Look on the bright side. At least he didn’t claim on this occasion that ISIS was less of a threat than climate change.
