As Mike Dorstewitz wrote earlier, the golfer-in-chief was turned away from three New York-area golf courses over Labor Day weekend owing to the loss of revenue occasioned by having to lock down a course for security reasons.
One of the courses that just said no was the Trump National Golf Club. As its name indicates, it is among the holdings of a man second in ego only to the president.
But The Donald is not utterly lacking in social graces. As Truth Revolt notes, he has made a rather magnanimous gesture to Obama in the form of a tweet:
If Obama resigns from office NOW, thereby doing a great service to the country—I will give him free lifetime golf at any one of my courses!

There has to be at least a shred of temptation in this offer for the president. Things haven’t been going all that well for him lately. Last night he was forced to dine on crow, having to appear on national TV to tell the American people that the war he boasted having ended in Iraq was not really over.
In general, there has been a visible lassitude in this leadership (if it can be called that), which suggests he’d rather be out on the golf links than sitting behind a stuffy oak desk in the Oval Office. Of course, we won’t know for sure until we see what Obama’s counter-offer to Trump is.
