Rep. Trey Gowdy, the fiery Republican from South Carolina, again did what he does best Wednesday when he cross-examined Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen.
Gowdy succeeded in not only eradicating the commissioner’s trademark arrogant demeanor, but at times got him to flail his arms and stammer.
At issue was Koskinen’s reversal of his previous testimony that backup tapes of former IRS executive Lois Lerner had been recycled or overwritten. He now claims that those tapes had been found by IRS Inspector General investigators.
Toward the end, Gowdy also took a shot at a statement the IRS chief made earlier — that morale had suffered at the agency because of all the congressional subpoenas.
Gowdy suggested that “If the folks like Lois Lerner and others would have spent more time” doing their job instead of targeting conservative groups, “maybe their morale would be better.”

Trey Gowdy is the only person who gets this Koskinen dope to stutter #IRS

Trey Gowdy stunned by Koskinen whining about morale: if IRS workers spent more time on backlogs and cooperating, morale'd be better.
