Picture of the Day: ‘I need feminism because…’

The object of this campaign, which is making the rounds on Twitter, is to complete the title stem in 25 words or else. Most of the entries provide a selfie of the poster holding up a sign with their asnwer.

Some of the “thinking” (if that is the correct term) that went into the completions needs further development. Several of them deal, for example, with the topic of rape, but how exactly feminism is a cure or “fix” for that crime is never clarified. One of the rape-centric posts offers up a conundrum:

Other posts have a distinct ‘70s look and feel:

My vagina has a voice

The writer should probably see a doctor for that.

Another popular theme is the whining schoolteacher. The one that follows laments, “When I asked my class what they knew about feminism, over half said they knew little to NOTHING about it.”

If learning about feminism is a goal of education, isn’t that an admission of failure on the teacher’s part?

Last but not least is an entry that is photoshopped but is perhaps the most truthful and certainly the most salient of any post:

Obama needs feminisim
