Picture of the Day: Chuck Schumer’s 2009 thank you letter to ‘un-American’ Kochs

There’s a lot this going on. First comes the revelation that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of the most vocal critics of the vile, “un-American” Koch brothers, was only too happy to accept their money in the form of a campaign contribution.

Now it turns out that another Democratic Senate veteran, New York’s Chuck Schumer, crawled out of the same hypocritical sewer. Newsbusters’s P.J. Gladnick reminds readers that Schumer appeared uneasy when asked by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough whether he agreed with Reid’s assessment of the Kochs. The reason for Schumer’s uneasiness is now obvious:

Schumer letter

In case you can’t make out the text, which is admittedly blurred, the “money” parts of the letter (no pun intended) are the opening and closing lines, shown in order:

Thank you so much for the generous KOCHPAC contribution to my 2010 campaign for re-election to the United States Senate.

Again, I can’t thank you enough. All of my best to you and yours, and I look forward to working with you throughout this election.
