Glenn Beck’s revealing video montage: Hillary Clinton, Obama, Kerry on Russia

Glenn Beck played an interesting montage on his radio show today of comments made by President Obama and friends on former presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s view of Russia.

As reported by Luke Johnson of the Huffington Post at the time, Mitt Romney referred to Russia as “without question our number one geopolitical foe.” Romney was responding to President Obama’s “hot mic” moment in Seoul after he was recorded telling Russian President Dmitry Medvedev,

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

Romney responded in part,

“This is without question our number one geopolitical foe, they fight for every cause for the world’s worst actors. The idea that he has more flexibility in mind for Russia is very, very troubling indeed.”

HuffPo’s Johnson snidely remarked,

“Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who endorsed Romney in January, also consistently takes a hard line against Russia, even following the end of the Cold War over two decades ago.”

The mainstream media focused on Mitt Romney’s assertion that Russia was America’s “number one geopolitical foe,” oftentimes inserting the word “enemy,” and all but ignored the ramifications of Obama’s hot mic moment.

As Erica Ritz of theBlaze reports, Romney “was eviscerated by the administration and members of the media, though recent events in Ukraine would indicate he wasn’t far off in his analysis.”

The hits kept coming as recently as a couple of weeks ago, when former director of rapid response for Barack Obama’s campaign Lis Smith tweeted:

As J.E. Dyer of Liberty Unyielding reported, Sarah Palin also made a comment way back in 2008 that was also eviscerated by the press:

“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.”

Dyer observed,

“Palin didn’t just pull this one out of her posterior.  She was right – and not through luck, but because she was wiser than her critics about security, peace, and the use of national power.”

Glenn Beck played a compilation of comments made by Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State John Kerry, President Obama, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and Colin Powell mocking Romney, saying in part,

“The mainstream media just doesn’t care. As long as you win the moment, it doesn’t matter what you said in the past. You can be proven absolutely wrong … but they have amnesia.”
