It’s not everyday that a born-again Evangelical Protestant from North Carolina comes to the defense of Catholic nuns, but that’s exactly what happened, as reported by Michelle Malkin’s Twitter watchdog site Twitchy.com on Jan. 3, 2014.
A native of Wilmington, NC, Charlie Daniels took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to defend the Catholic Order of The Little Sisters of the Poor as they take the Obama Administration to court over the ObamaCare mandate that the Sisters financially support abortions for members of the laity employed by the Order.
Faithful Catholics and the vast majority of Evangelicals look upon artificial abortion as murder without exception.
In his tweet, Daniels not only hammered Obama, but also took a less-than-veiled swipe at certain Republican elected officials in Washington, DC considered by many conservatives as emasculated “RINOs” (Republicans In Name Only) who too often seek accommodation with the Democrats.
After an admitted wild and woolly youth, the 77-year-old Country-Rock and Gospel legend has also delved the world of writing op/ed pieces for various conservative cyber-publications such as News Busters, the Cybercast News Service and MedLaw.com.
