Death from above: Kenyan Air Force hammers Islamic Jihadists in Somalia

Camoflage aircraftReminiscent of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps fighter/attack aircraft being the first to strike against Taliban and al-Qaeda forces immediately after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the Kenyan Air Force just scored some payback against the same terrorist thugs that attacked unarmed Kenyan civilians last September, as reported by the Associated Press via MSN News on Nov. 1, 2013.

Before the smoke figuratively cleared from the al-Shabaab terrorist attack on Nairobi’s posh Westgate Mall that resulted in well over 200 innocent men, women and children killed or wounded, the Kenyan Air Force (KAF) attacked the training camp for the Somalia-based Islamic Jihadist group.

The official spokesman for the Kenyan Defence Forces Colonel Cyrus Oguna released to the civilian press that the Kenyan Air Force hit not just any terrorist training camp, but the same training ground used for the Westgate Mall attackers.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab said it carried out the the September, 2013 attack, which killed 68 and wounded 175.

Colonel Oguna hasn’t released how many of the estimated 300 al-Shabaab wannabe-martyrs were killed in the air attack, but did promise “many more” similar strikes in the future.

Small but potent, the KAF boasts upwards of 27 upgraded Northrup F-5 Tiger II combat aircraft, and according to Strategic Intelligence, a set of F-16 fighter bombers may have quietly been procured from Israel.

Along with a slew of other military analysts, Strategic Intelligence rates the Kenyan Air Force as most professional air force in East and Central Africa.
