It’s hard to say which trait of Barack Obama’s is the least flattering. Is it his paranoia, which has prompted him not only to spy on innocent Americans but to stray as far as humanly possible from his promise of “most transparent president ever”? Or is it his propensity for lying through his teeth and then accusing everyone who refuses to be taken in by his perfidy a liar?
Regardless of which you favor, both have reappeared in a reprise of his pathetic “Truth Team.” For those who missed the first incarnation (and, believe me, you didn’t miss much) of the “Truth Team,” the new one is a carbon copy of the original, right down to the design of the web page. The intent is the same, too: To encourage friends of Obama to snitch on anyone who spreads vicious lies about all the great things his nibs has planned for America. (What exactly the administration intends to do with this information is as unclear now as it was when the first iteration was rolled out under the insidious name “AttackWatch.” Presumably the biggest fibbers should not be surprised to answer a knock on the door only to find a half dozen burly, crew-cutted men in black suits waiting.)
The first Truth Team was paid for by Obama’s campaign apparatus, Obama for America (OFA). That organization had to be disbanded once he was elected for his second and last term, but old habits die hard. The new Truth Team is under the aegis of the new OFA, Organizing for Action.

Now with Obamacare, we’ve seen political groups willing to spend millions in ads to spread lies and confuse the public about what’s really going on — even about the benefits folks are already seeing, like ending lifetime caps, and young adults who can stay on their parents’ insurance until they’re 26. In fact, opponents have spent $385 million already doing just that. It’s not that they have a better idea to protect people’s health — it’s that they see Obamacare as a significant policy victory for our President, and they want to do everything they can to undermine that. Same old pattern: hurt the President even if it hurts the country. Just disgusting.
That’s why we’ve got to fight back.

As for being “stuck on some claim you know is false,” what about the false claims the “bestower of Obamacare and similarly great initiatves” clings to so tenaciously? Even as reports surface that his CIA is administering lie detector tests to its operatives to make sure they aren’t spilling the beans about Benghazi, Obama is out on the stump, accusing his opponents of manufacturing “phony scandals” about him. And now the Truth Team is back? Where does the madness end?
