Could Susan Rice end up in jail if she is called before Congress? Judge Andrew Napolitano says yes

Fox News analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano believes that former National Security Adviser Susan Rice could be “trapped’ by Trey Gowdy, leading to some jail time, if she is forced to testify before Congress.

In a segment that began with Napolitano referring to Rice as a “serial liar,” the judge said he believes there would be two potential crimes emerging from a Congressional hearing on unmasking members of President Trump’s transition team.

“If you are under oath, as you will be, then there’s two potential crimes. Lying under oath and misleading,” he explained. “She has a track record of misleading. Serious, public misleading.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Napolitano believes if anybody could lay the trap, it would be Rep. [score]Trey Gowdy[/score], (R-S.C.).

“I think the Trump administration is so furious” over the unmasking of campaign officials, that “they will lay a trap for her and see if she will fall into it.”

Via The Daily Caller:

Judge Andrew Napolitano stated on Fox & Friends Tuesday that, given the multiple ways Congressman Trey Gowdy could “trap” her if cross-examined before the House Intelligence Committee, Susan Rice could very well end up in jail.

Fox’s senior judicial analyst noted that Gowdy and company are “probably going to try and trap” Rice into “misleading Congress.”

“Would she be prosecuted?” Napolitano posed. “I think so.”

Granted, the judge made similar claims about the Hillary Clinton email scandal, but perhaps he’ll be right this time around. Perhaps somebody from the Obama administration will actually be punished for committing a crime.

Though there have been no specifics on Rice testifying before Congress, Sen. [score]Rand Paul[/score] has said she needs to tell her story under oath.

I don’t think we should discount how big a deal it was that Susan Rice was looking at these, and she needs to be asked, did President Obama ask her to do this? Was this a directive from President Obama?

If she is asked those questions and changes her story – as she has done with her public statements – Rice could find herself in hot water.
