Quote of the Day: ‘The men I know don’t treat women this way’

Quote of the Day: ‘The men I know don’t treat women this way’

The target of the above quote is, as you probably guessed, Donald Trump. The speaker is First Lady Michelle Obama, who was in New Hampshire Thursday to campaign for Democratic pesidential nominee Hillary Clinton. (Yes, Mrs. Obama said of Hillary in 2008, “If you can’t run your own house, you can’t run White House,” but liberals have short memories, so we’ll move along to her most recent words.)

Feigning righteous indignation at Donald Trump’s lewd comments about women, Obama told those assembled:

[T]he men in my life do not talk about women like this. The men that you and I know don’t treat women this way. They are loving fathers who are sickened by the thought of their daughters being exposed to this kind of vicious language about women.

Although she didn’t name names, allow me to provide a few. First off is the rapper with the fitting self-appellation Common. This is a man to whom Michelle Obama personally extended an invitation to perform at the White House several years back. How does he speak about and to women? Here’s an example from his “lyrics:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

You know where I’m from
Some hoes ass niggas
Singing all around me man, la la la
You aint muthaf*cking Frank Sinatra
Uh, lil bitch
Yeah, this the raw right here
Yeah this the raw right here nigga
Sweet muthaf*ckas
Sweet ass bitch muthaf*cka

Then there is the singer Beyoncé, who Mrs. Obama so admires that she once confessed if she could have a “different job” it would be Beyoncé — whatever that means. Surely, Beyoncé as a woman herself would never be caught mouthing doggerel that would make a teamster blush, right? Well, that depends on whether you are offended by the line “I don’t wanna lose my pride, but I’mma f*ck me up a b*tch.”

Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z — another hip-hop “artist” and one who Mrs. Obama has taken her teenage daughters to see live in concert — undoubtedly has no problem with his wife’s potty mouth. Some of his lyrics are pretty “frank” themselves. Here’s a sample:

If you’re having girl problems I feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one

[…]

Now once upon a time not too long ago
A nigga like myself had to strong arm a hoe
This is not a hoe in the sense of having a pussy

Glass houses, Mrs. Obama? Here’s her tirade should anyone still care to see it.
