Pot, meet kettle: Ex-Miss Universe Alicia Machado calls Melania Trump a ‘decoration’?

Many in the media believe that Hillary Clinton scored a knockout punch during the first presidential debate when she dropped the name of former beauty queen Alicia Machado. Clinton, who has shamelessly played the feminist card, telling Americans they should vote for her because the nation is overdue for a female commander-in-chief, didn’t bring up the former Miss Universe as an embodiment of the crass objectifaction of women. Nor did she deride Machado as a slut for having sex on a televised reality show in Spain.

No, Hillary brought up Machado’s name for the express purpose of attacking Donald Trump, her GOP opponent, who in 1997 indelicately called Machado “Miss Piggy.” The back story is that Machado had gained considerable weight since winning the title, and the pageant — which Trump had just bought — was contemplating stripping her of her crown.

Ironically, this 20-year-old incident occurred around the same time that Mrs. Clinton was herself in attack mode, attempting to destroy the reputation of every woman her husband, the president, had raped, groped, or simply had consensual sex with during their marriage.

In any case, Machado has become a minor celebrity since the debate. Shortly after the debate, she wrote to Hillary on Twitter in Spanish: “Thank you, Mrs. Clinton. Your respect for women and our differences make you great! I’m with you!”

Unfortunately, she has also been using her newfound bully pulpit to attack other women, including The Donald’s wife.

Fox News reports:

In a Tuesday interview with Cosmopolitan, Machado took a different tone when asked about Melania Trump, who, like Machado, was a model and immigrant. Trump was born in Slovenia.

“I think I speak more English than her,” Machado, a Venezuela native, said. “I don’t see anything about this girl. She’s a doll. She’s a decoration. That is how I see her.”

So much for respecting women’s differences. When it comes to insulting women, Machado is in the race for a title that Hillary Clinton herself deserves. That title is Queen of Hypocrisy.
