German man who confronted Munich shooter faces prosecution for ‘insulting’ him

The West is clinically insane.  Nothing this German man did during Ali Sonboly’s rampage in a Munich McDonald’s in July should ever even come up again — at least not in the workday of the local police or the state prosecutor.

But that’s exactly what has happened.  Thomas Salbey, who shouted expletives at Sonboly and threw a bottle at him during the attack, is now being hounded by German law enforcement.

Thomas Salbey, 57, saw the shooting happening from his balcony in the Bavarian capital on July 22.

In an attempt to stop 18 year old Ali Sonboly from further slaughtering people, he swore at the shooter as he was standing in a car park below.

Sonboly shouted at him: “I am a German.” …

The plucky German also hurled a beer bottle at the attacker in a desperate attempt to stop him.

He said: “All I had was a beer bottle to throw at him, but if I had a gun I would have shot him in the head.”

Germans have enthusiastically sent this video viral (the transcript at YouTube has the profanity, which is copied for your convenience in the footnote below*):

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

But a spokesman for the Munich State Prosecutor says Salbey is being investigated and could face charges.

Florian Weinzierl, spokesman from the Munich State Prosecutor’s office, confirmed the Munich resident is being investigated.

What will be included in the charges remains to be established, as it whether they will be brought forward.

But Mr Weinzierl, suggested they could include “insults to the detriment of the dead.”

Take note of the additional information Express provides on Sonboly, which is little reported (if at all) in U.S. media.

Shortly after the shooting, it was revealed Sonboly considered himself Aryan, despite his Iranian heritage, and held racist view, including a deep hatred for Turks and Arabs.

Iran is considered to be the home of the Aryan race and Sonboly was said to be proud of his Iranian ancestry despite his dislike for neighbouring countries in the Middle East.

The…killer also said it was an “honour” to have shared his birthday – April 20 – with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Express can barely present this coherently, since it is a matter of orthodox thought-enforcement in Europe that Hitler and his “Aryanism” are “right-wing” phenomena.  But that orthodoxy doesn’t fit reality.

Express unwittingly (I think) reveals cognitive dissonance by putting it this way:  “Sonboly considered himself Aryan, despite his Iranian heritage…”

Well, no.  He considered himself Aryan because of his Iranian heritage.  Just read the next sentence, from the writer’s own hand.  The blinding orthodoxy is strong with this one.  (The Iranians themselves are not accountable for perpetrating “Aryanism” as a theory; that was a European invention.)

And yes, in quoting that whole passage, I removed the qualifier “right-wing” from the third sentence.  That’s because Sonboly wasn’t “right-wing” in any meaningful sense.  He was a radicalized kid who identified as Iranian and shouted Allahu Akbar while killing Turks, whom he reportedly hated because of a Hitler-inspired Aryanism.  Whatever meaning those facts have in combination, it isn’t about a “right wing” that has politically significant adherents or agendas.  Marine LePen I can buy, on some points, as “right wing.” Anders Breivik is borderline-to-not in that regard.  Sonboly was a deluded, radicalized teenager who didn’t fit any coherent definition of “right wing.”

On the other hand, his affinities were emblems of the close link between the Nazis and Islamic supremacists during Hitler’s ascendancy in Germany.  The history of that pattern has been written about extensively in recent years (see citations at the link), but the MSM have all but ignored the scholarship on it.

It’s all of a piece:  the West’s refusal to acknowledge actual, documented political patterns — making up false narratives to paper over them — and its armed intimidation of individuals who speak out (however crudely) against moral horrors on their streets, instead of curling up and playing dead.
