Black students conference devises novel solution for ‘sexist’ and ‘racist’ criminal justice system

You’ve heard the expression “The inmates are running the asylum.” The metaphor is always used pejoratively, but that didn’t stop the National Union of Students in Britain from voting this past weekend on a proposition that is equally radical. At its black students’ conference, the group called for all prisons in the UK to be abolished and that all current inmates be set free.

According to The Daily Mail, the group also elected Malia Bouattia, a rabid anti-Semite, as president of the union, replacing the more moderate incumbent. The article notes that Bouattia has criticized her own university, Birmingham — which has a large Jewish society — as a “Zionist outpost in British higher education.”

But reforming the “prison-industrial complex,” which is both racist and sexist, was the main thrust of the meeting. Students resolved to disrupt the current prison system using any means necessary, including “direct action.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Here are Bouattia’s remarks on the “Zionist-led media outlets”:

The meeting took place in the city of Bradford in West Yorkshire. That’s some 3,400 miles away the East Coast of the U.S. as the crow flies, but it doesn’t take that much imagination to envision a similar conference taking place here.
