Report by watchdog group finds Hillary Clinton so ethically challenged she needed her own category

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a non-profit ethics watchdog group, released its“Worst Ethics Violators of 2015” list. The list found Hillary Clinton’s ethical violations so egregious that they required a separate category, prompting the group’s executive director to declare the Democratic front-runner “in a league of her own.”

Via America Rising PAC:

On top of the list of seven members of Congress and candidates, FACT had to award a category, all by itself, to Hillary Clinton for her roles in various ongoing scandals and investigations.

The report detailed four major ethics scandals involving Clinton, referring to the list as “just a few examples that don’t even scratch the surface of her improper behavior”:

  1. Clinton Giving Preferential Treatment To A Company With Ties To Her Son-in-Law (FACT complaint)
  2. The Clinton Foundation Making Payments To Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential Campaign (FACT complaint)
  3. Clinton’s Campaign Illegally Interacting With A Super PAC (FACT complaint)
  4. Clinton’s Campaign Violated Ethics Rules by Meeting with Senate Democrats (FACTcomplaint)

Much of the substance of these ethics violations was revealed via the State Department’s forced release of Clinton’s emails.

FACT stated that the begrudgingly released e-mails from Clinton’s private server showed “that she abused her official position.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“Elected officials are sent to Washington to follow and uphold the law and so they need to be held to the highest standard of ethics. Even the appearance of impropriety can quickly erode public trust, and Mrs. Clinton is in a league of her own” said FACT executive director and former U.S. Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker.

“We will continue to vigorously hold the lantern over unethical behavior so that we have a government that serves the public’s interest, not the self-interests of leaders who think they are beyond reproach.”

The entire list of ethics violators can be found here, and it includes a bipartisan list of legislators.
