I am referring to the latest in Donald Trump’s ever-growing list of insults, digs, and off-color remarks that the political class and/or journalists were sure would sink his candidacy.
The first of these impossible-to-recover-from comments that Trump recovered from was made during his announcement that he was running for the n for the Republican nomination:

Next was his crass insinuation the following month that John McCain is not a war hero “because he was captured.”
The predictions of Trump’s political demise turned out to be not only greatly exaggerated but flat out wrong.
Which brings us to his latest, which has been captured for posterity on video. The potentially troublesome formulation comes late in the clip, which addresses Hillary Clinton’s loss of the Democratic nomination in 2008 to Barack Obama. “She was gonna win,” Trump tells us at around 00:25, before adding, “but she got schlonged.”
For the uninitiated, schlong is Yiddish slang for “penis.”
