Video: Man wades fearlessly into epic locust swarm in Russia

Reportedly, parts of Russia are being catastrophically plagued with locusts this summer, destroying crops and provoking an emergency declaration from Moscow.

It’s probably not a sign of apocalypse.  Locust swarms in temperate-zone croplands come and go with climate cycles; North America has experienced them several times in the last two centuries.

But now we have information technology to bring us the experience, up close and personal.

Gack.
