I know some of y’all folks out there are experienced at detecting dog whistles. And most of you are way hipper than I am.
So maybe you can help me out here. What does it mean: “She’s smiling with her mouth, but her eyes are saying, you know, where’s my latte?”
Is it a zen koan?
I’m picking up on the fact that the CNS News writer, Susan Jones, seems to get it. And it’s not that I don’t get the overall point Romney’s making — that Hillary was perfunctory and rhetorically tired, not seeming to believe much that she was saying.
I’m having a hard time placing the latte reference, however.
Meanwhile, I’d say of Romney that he’s grimacing good-naturedly with his mouth, but his eyes are saying — as they always seem to — “When is the Fed going to pound on a quarter point, already?”
