A 19-year-old former student at the University of Oregon who bared it all in the school library has bared her soul. The curvaceous coed, Kendra Jane Sunderland, was interviewed by New York’s Daily News and asked about her reasons for making the racy webcam porno, which could land her in jail. Her most immediate explanation is that she lacks inhibition: “I’m not like most other girls that are insecure with their bodies or don’t want to show off. I’ve always been the type of girl who’s not afraid to show off, so I didn’t feel weird about it.”
The video, as it turns out, was not her first. In October Sunderland contracted with MyFreeCams, which bills itself as “America’s number one adult community.” She received $150 for just one hour of live work in front of her computer’s webcam. “Working a minimum wage job, there’s people that are just mean to you when they’re having a crappy day” she told her interviewer. “On MyFreeCams, [users] had nothing but nice things to say. And I made way more than I would working any other job.”
Her ultimate goal, she said, is to land a spread in a high-end porn magazine such as “Playboy” and it appears she is on her way. She has already fulfilled one request for a professional nude photo shoot, and offers are flooding in. But at some point on her road to fame as a porn model, she will have to pay her debt to society. Her now-infamous library porno, in which “she flashes her breasts and masturbates at a desk as oblivious classmates walk by in the background,” brought her not only recognition but a citation for public indecency. Her future is likely to include a fine of up to $6,250 and up to one year in jail.
But Sunderland says she is unconcerned — and not terribly bothered by her parents’ reaction to her career choice either. “They’re kind of upset now,” she said.
When I first started working for MyFreeCams, I was hoping that it would open to modeling and doing magazines and shoots like that. I knew that eventually everyone would see everything about me and see me naked. I just didn’t think that would happen so fast and have my actual name on it.
