With friends like this… Maybe the veep was dumping on his boss as a means to increase his own stock as a 2016 Democratic presidential hopeful. Or maybe it was just another case of Joe being Joe.
Whatever the explanation, Biden, speaking in Philadelphia, told his audience:
To state the obvious the past six years have been really, really hard for this country. And they’ve been really tough for our party…. But together — and together — we’ve made some really hard decisions: decisions that weren’t at all popular.
The clip is admittedly short, but it’s hard to imagine a context that makes any of this sound like anything but gloom and doom. Which in the end is an accurate assessment of what the Obama presidency has brought.
