Although I was strictly rock and roll in my youth, I’m becoming a fan of country in my old age, and it’s not just a musical decision — it’s also political.
Country artists are, for the most part, more down-to-earth, seemingly more approachable and rooted in common sense. Hence, they’re more conservative.
This was demonstrated in spades Wednesday night at the Country Music Association Awards presentation, when Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley poked a little fun at the Democrats’ phenomenal midterm election defeat the night before.
And when the audience went wild with enthusiasm, Twitter users took note and loved it too, according to Twitchy.
Conservative writer and pundit S.E. Cupp tweeted:
Audience at #CMAAwards bursts into applause when Carrie Underwood says “Dems lost the Senate.”

And then there were these from Tampa grad student John Cimino and Washington Free Beacon writer Adam Kredo:
huge roar at the CMA awards when they mentioned Obama and the Democrats losing the Senate

I like how every person in the crowd of the country music awards show just loudly applauded the democrats losing the Senate
