No one said the job of Secretary of State would be easy. Or interesting.
At least when John Kerry was a U.S. Senator, there were generally more than a hundred people present in the chamber, what with other senators, pages, and so on. And there were rarely TV cameras trained in his direction, so if he wanted to tune on some boring floor speech and catch 44 winks, no one was any the wiser.
Now that he’s America chief diplomat, the rules have changed. From the Washington Free Beacon:
Secretary of State John Kerry was caught taking a catnap at a press conference in Warsaw on Tuesday.
Cameras caught Kerry drifting off during Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski’s response to a question.
Kerry slowly began nodding his head before finally entering into a deep comatose like sleep as the translator earpiece he was listening to loudly sounded.
No word yet on boss President Obama’s reaction to the snafu.
Kerry in his own feeble defense says it was a long blink.
