LU gets a new look

LU gets a new look

Welcome to LU’s new digs! Our much-awaited (by us anyway) relaunch went live at 10:30 this morning, marking the end of a very long month of non-stop work by our designer, Ted Slater. We had originally hoped to go live on our first anniversary, Dec. 3, 2013, but better late than never.

And by “better,” take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new features. The most prominent of these is “Quick Takes,” which brings many members of the LU family full circle. Some half dozen of us — Mike Antonucci, Jeff Dunetz, Amy Lutz, Libby Sternberg, and my comrade in arms, J.E. Dyer — are veterans of the HotAir Greenroom. And we hope to revive some of the spirit of that hallowed web space via Quick Takes, which will combine breaking developments with gloves-off social commentaries, all seasoned where appropriate with a generous dash of humor.

Also new to the new LU is our YouTube channel (upper right), which is currently — but only temporarily — vacant.

Around the Web, our headlines feature, has been brought more front and center, now appearing near the top of the righthand column, directly beneath “Stay in the Loop.” By the way, if you haven’t subscribed yet, you should in order to receive our newsletter, which will be going out soon exclusively to subscribers.

We welcome any and all comments (yes, let me be the first to acknowledge that we couldn’t arrange to include a formatting bar in our comments section — this despite my repeated promise that if you liked your formatting bar you could keep your formatting bar), but I will make that up to you by buying each and every one of you a drink at our first annual in-the-flesh LUFest (details to follow).

I would remiss if I didn’t offer a word of gratitude to all of you, our readers, for making the site the success it is. We have grown by leaps and bounds during our first year, and we owe it to you.
