College Republicans denied admittance to Obama speech

Obama pouting“There is no red America or blue America…” No, wait. Make that “There is no red America, period. At least not at one of my ‘policy’ speeches. Not no way, no no how.”

The original quote was uttered at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 by the old “phony” (to borrow his current adjective of choice) Barack Obama. The revised version came on Wednesday, when the new, two-faced, thin-skinned, fickle Obama made it clear that Americans should be judged by the color of their politics, not the content of their character.

The College Fix writes that ten members of the the University of Central Missouri chapter of the College Republicans were refused admittance to Obama’s speech on “economic policy.”

Despite the fact that the students had tickets to the event, security personnel turned them away at the door to the recreation center where Obama gave [the] speech, telling the group it wasn’t about their politics but the president’s safety...

The students, some of whom donned Tea Party T-Shirts and others who wore patriotic or Republican-inspired clothing, had protested the president earlier in the day on campus, but had put away their signs and said they were ready to simply listen to Obama when security shut them down — and even told them to leave the vicinity and stay several hundred yards away from the rec center.

The students had waited in a long line and under the hot sun to wind their way to the front of the line two hours in advance of Obama’s scheduled 5:30 p.m. remarks. Still, they were rejected.

The small group was confused as to why such extreme security measures were directed at them but not at the 2,500 other audience members who were admitted to the auditorium without question. The  protest earlier in the day had been peaceful, according to Courtney Scott, State Treasurer of the College Republicans. The group was  asked to protest at the “public speech area” on campus, not anywhere near the rec center, and complied. They were not allowed within eyesight or earshot of people who were waiting in line.

This is not the first time an “enemy” has been barred from attending a speech by Obama. In 2011, “San Francisco Chronicle” reporter Carla Marinucci was banished from covering future presidential visits to the Bay area after she captured a video of protesters heckling the president. If that weren’t sufficiently odious, the White House proceeded to lie about the reason for Marinucci’s banishment, claiming it was because of a violation of protocol.
