No longer a question of “if” or “considering.” Barack Obama has already decided to send arms and ammunition to the various Syrian rebel forces, including the al-Nusra group, which has gone public in announcing they are allied with the same terrorists who attacked the United States.
According to a report by Cal Thomas of Fox News, one of the Syrian rebel groups has vowed allegiance to and allied themselves with Osama bin Laden’s replacement, al-Qaeda leader Sheik Ayman al-Zawahri, effectively placing them under the terrorist’s command.
Fox News Lies! Well, Maybe Not…
Verifying the Fox News article was a Detroit Free Press report of last week, which confirmed that the leader of the Jabhat al-Nusra li-Ahl al-Sham, Abou Mohamad al-Joulani, did in fact promise his fidelity to the current al Qaeda chief. The Syrian rebel leader’s pledge was coupled with an announcement that al Qaeda affiliate in Iraq, Dawlat al-Irāq al-Islāmiyyah, would cooperate with al-Nusra as well.
CNN has reported that the al-Nusra Front is the largest of the seven main rebel factions, boasting 10,000 fanatical fighters in Syria today. Perhaps even more disconcerting to the American people is the fact that the terror gang is reportedly the best equipped arm of al Qaeda in existence today.
Lose-Lose Situation…
In the two-year-long rebellion against the violently oppressive regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the vast majority of the loose confederation of rebel groups has had one thing in common: An undying commitment to Islamic Jihad.
As Thomas opined in his article:
Deposing a mass murderer in favor of jihadists committed to ‘holy war’ against America and the West is like choosing a firing squad over the guillotine.
