It will be interesting to watch the media reports of President Barack Obama’s upcoming trip to Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Apparently there are quite a few Palestinians who don’t want him to visit.
Journalist Khalid Abu Toameh reports that in Bethlehem:
Scores of protesters gathered near Manger Square and threw shoes at a US diplomatic vehicle as it arrived at the scene as part of preparations for Obama’s visit to the city later this week.
Indeed, the Palestinian Authority may be behind the planned unrest:
A PA security officer said that the PA would not act against those who seek permission to protest against Obama’s visit.
There were even indications that the PA leadership was encouraging or initiating some of the protests.
The general opinion appears to be that Obama has sold out to Israel (despite the fact that he will reportedly bring $500 million with him for the Palestinian Authority).
My suggestions: (1) bet against the MSM covering much of these protests; and (2) buy shares in the companies that sell shoes to Palestinians; there may be an uptick in demand after the visit.
