This must be a measure of how much Deonte Baber and Jamall Isaiah Killings, both of Cincinnati, buy into the Gospel of Race to which many in the black community subscribe in these fractious times.

When Killings’s 4-year-old son was accidentally run down by a white motorist on March 24, he and 25-year-old Baber, a passerby, meted out street justice on the spot by (in the words of the police report) “by firing multiple gunshots into the victim’s vehicle, striking the victim.”

One of the two men then calmly dialed 911,  not to confess to having overreacted — the child’s injuries were obviously minor — but seemingly to “take credit.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Station WISTV has the transcript of part of what Baber told the dispatcher:

I took care of dude. I killed him. He’s dead. He dead. The dude that hit you by the car. He dead. I killed him. I’m serious he’s dead. The dude that him you with the car… I killed him.

You hear me? He dead. I killed him. He dead. You good. Your daddy got you. You know I love you don’t you. I’m here with you. I love you baby.

According to court documents, the driver, 44-year-old Jamie Urton, exited his car after the accident to check on the condition of the child. He was beaten by three pedestrians and reentered his vehicle, presumably seeking refuge. Instead he was summarily executed.

Baber evidently fled following the 911 call. Police are conducting a manhunt for him and for Killings, 24, who is also being sought in connection with the death of the driver.

Urton was an employee of Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
