It takes a special kind of talent to say something on the occasion of a celebrity’s death so tasteless that it offends people on both sides of the ideological spectrum. Comedian D.L. Hughley not only deftly managed that task but did so while airing his usual racial-grievance laundry.

Hughley, who earlier this year accused Fox News of ignoring racism, blew up Twitter Wednesday with a comment about Debbie Reynolds’ death just one day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher, succumbed to a heart attack.
Many have said they believe Reynolds, 84, passed away because of a broken heart. In fact, the “Singin’ in the Rain” star reportedly uttered these words just before her death: “I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie.”
