It’s not as if Team Hillary isn’t already up to its eyeballs in problems. Mrs. Clinton’s poll numbers have been steadily declining for several months, and her apology tour over her private email server is failing to turn things around. On top of that longtime confidante and aide Huma Abedin is now the target of a federal investigation for her role as special government contract staffer, and a report out today suggests that the State Department is going to be as uncooperative in releasing documents as the candidate herself has been.
The last thing the Clinton camp needs at this point is for Huma’s notorious husband, Anthony Weiner, to remind prospective voters of how sleazy the entire operation it. Weiner of course is famous (infamous?) for his sexting scandals in 2013, when he was still a member of the U.S. Congress from New York.
According to the New York Post:
Weiner will be conspicuously absent from the fundraiser his boss, Michael Kempner, is throwing for his wife’s boss, Hillary Clinton.
Weiner has been kept away from Hillary since his second sexting scandal first broke in 2013, even though Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, has a bigger role than ever in Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Kempner and wife Jacqueline are hosting a fundraiser that Hillary will attend Sept. 24 at their home in Cresskill, NJ.
But Weiner (a.k.a. Carlos Danger) will not be there. “He was not only not invited,” said one source. “He was specifically told not to show up just in case he had any plans to.”
Weiner is probably used to being persona non grata since he brought shame to himself and the U.S. House of Representatives after the salacious selfies he texted to a paramour went public.
