For every picture of a semi-naked breast you remove, two more will pop up in its place. Something like that.
According to the Mirror, the first shot in the Battle of the Breast was fired by Facebook, after 32-year-old Kaya Wright posted a picture of herself nursing her 16-month-old son (see below) and was informed that the photo violated the social media site’s prohibition on nudity.
FB didn’t know who it was dealing with. The Liverpool, England, mom is a member of BAMBIS, short for Babies and Mums Breastfeeding Information and Support. And when Wright reported the group what had happened, the site lit up with pictures of bambis in action.
Timing may have had a lot to do with intensity of the reaction to the Facebook ruling. It came within days of news that nursing mothers had been cautioned against feeding their babies — at a conference on breastfeeding.
Wright, who works as a nurse, told the Liverpool Echo:
At first I thought it was a joke. Facebook said the image had been reported for nudity but you really couldn’t see anything. Then I was a bit disappointed at the thought that someone in the group had reported the image.
