Obama’s hotel bill for one night in Brussels: $1.5M

By now it’s no secret that the already-exorbitant cost of operating Air Force One jumped 27% under the Obama administration, to $228,288 per hour. But how much does it cost the president to stay overnight in a hotel in Brussels? How does $1,522,646.36 sound?

The Weekly Standard’s Jeryl Bier did some digging and came up with this document:

Bier explains that the cost also includes two weeks for an advance team to scout out the premises. But if you divide the amount on the government document by 14, you still end up with a nightly rate of $108,760, which seems a tad high.
