Democratic US Senate Nominee Abdul El-Sayed Claims ‘Toxic Masculinity’ At Heart Of Football, Advocated Defunding The Police
By Andrew Powell
What a goof this guy is.
Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic nominee to represent Michigan in the U.S. Senate, made the argument that “toxic masculinity” is at the heart of football. He also said that racism, homophobia and misogyny are pervasive in sports. (RELATED: Teddy Bridgewater Retires, Lions Pivot To Joshua Dobbs For Backup Quarterback Duties)
“El-Sayed repeatedly endorsed defunding the police,” reports CNN. “We do need to defund the police,” El-Sayed said in a 2020 radio interview
The comments were made by El-Sayed in a Substack post from 2021, with the left-winger responding to then-Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden resigning from his job after some of his emails became public. “The toxic masculinity at the heart of America’s most popular sport — and men’s sports culture more generally — is way deeper than a few emails or a Jay-Z turnaround,” wrote El-Sayed, per The Midwesterner.

Give me a break.
It’s the classic progressive playbook nonsense, which is to take a pastime of America, run it through a sociology class mindset, and then declare it too flawed for a future communist nation.
With El-Sayed’s blatant ignorance, he’s telling you that the millions of Americans who enjoy their football every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday aren’t doing it for the love of the game, but actively participating in a system failure based on “toxic masculinity.”
Like, what are we even talking about?
What makes comments like this so ridiculous is the crazy disconnect from reality. Football has done more to cross racial, socio-economic, and political divides than almost any political commentary out there.
Michigan, y’all know what to do. Get out to vote and nix this guy from relevancy.
