The Brinks had recently moved to Prairie Grove and were hiking a remote trail in the rugged state park when they were attacked, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety. The crime scene remains sealed off as the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division leads an intensive search for the killer.
Investigators are asking anyone who visited Devil’s Den on Saturday to check phone, GoPro, or camera footage for possible sightings of the suspect. Residents near the park are also urged to review security or game cameras for suspicious activity.
The suspect is described as a white man of medium build, wearing dark pants, a dark ball cap, sunglasses, fingerless gloves and a long-sleeved shirt with rolled-up sleeves. He was carrying a black backpack and last seen driving a black four-door sedan — possibly a Mazda — with its license plate obscured by tape, police said. He may have exited the park via State Highway 170 or 220.
“We are using all available resources to apprehend this suspect and bring him to justice,” said ASP Col. Mike Hagar. “We urge the public to avoid sharing footage on social media and instead submit it directly to investigators.”
