Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon revealed the wild situation she walked into after joining the Department of Justice (DOJ) in the new Trump administration.
Dhillon told Tucker Carlson during a podcast that lawyers in the DOJ’s Civil Rights division held “unhappy hours,” “crying sessions,” and resigned after President Donald Trump won the White House in 2024. But it wasn’t merely that Trump won that got these lawyers all spun up; it was that their reign of terror would be over.
“They weren’t going to be able to do those the way that they wanted,” Dhillon told Carlson.
“There were career lawyers there who were doing the same thing, no matter who is the president. Suddenly, their little fiefdom that had remained untouched, like Shangri-La, was suddenly having to be responsive to elections,” she said.
For decades, big city mayors have hired public employees based on race. That’s illegal but nobody’s stopped them. Then Harmeet Dhillon took over the civil rights division at DoJ.

When Dhillon took charge of the division, she sent an email to the staff explaining that their new focus would be on enforcing the Trump administration’s agenda, including investigations into men in women’s sports, the rise in antisemitism, and anti-Christian bias. “The zealous and faithful pursuit of this section’s mission requires the full dedication of this section’s resources, attention and energy to the priorities of the president,” Dhillon wrote, according to the New York Times.
The email sent the left-wing activists posing as DOJ lawyers into a tailspin. They were openly “crying in the halls” and even “lined up in a phalanx and approached the elevator together, and then left the building together, to show their solidarity for one another there, as if they were persecuted,” according to Dhillon.

Imagine being this fragile. They are working in the CIVIL RIGHTS division. The greatest civil rights issues of our time certainly include the issue of women being forced to share locker rooms, bathrooms, and compete against men, not to mention the toll the DOJ and FBI investigations took on Christian pro-life activists and their families under the Biden Administration.
These lawyers targeted conservatives and had no mercy for them. But now, because they are being asked to stop their discrimination against the right and protect Americans being persecuted by left-wing ideologies, they want to pretend to be victims. We already knew the left had minimal capacity for compassion for those they see as their political enemies. So Dhillon’s revelation that they wailed and gnashed their teeth before quitting in hysterical fashion was nothing we weren’t already expecting.
Hundreds of DOJ civil rights lawyers are now resigning because President Trump is ending decades of partisan abuse. Their “resistance” proves how embedded the far-left has become in our institutions. Still, it underscores the left’s inability to put their political ideologies aside to do the work for the American people. What happened in the DOJ is a feature of left-wing insanity, not a bug. This is what these activists are, and we should take their word for it that they aren’t willing to do the basics of their jobs. (ROOKE: Don’t Forget What Cuomo Did To Your Grandparents)
This makes them not only unqualified for public office, but should activate voters into a movement that prevents these people from ever having control in our government in the future. They simply haven’t earned the right to do our bidding.
