Pelosi says Capitol rioters chose their ‘whiteness’ over democracy

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made racial allegations against those who stormed the Capitol last week, stating they chose their “their whiteness” over democracy Pelosi made the comments during a video meeting with constituents in San Francisco.

“It has been an epiphany for the world to see that there are people in our country led by this president, for the moment, who have chosen their whiteness over democracy,” she said.

It’s hard to even interpret what such a statement means. The protests in Washington last Wednesday had little to do with race and everything to do with simmering anger regarding election integrity.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Pelosi Accuses Rioters of Being Motivated by ‘Whiteness’

Pelosi’s comments are more the meandering, misguided thoughts of a left-wing politician pre-programmed to recite the “woke” party line than they the well-considered views of an individual trying to address the problems that led to such an event. Remember when she accused President Trump of using the census to “make America white again.”

Her words don’t need to make sense, they just need to portray conservatives as racists. That is her only goal. And like the majority of her fellow Democrats, she can’t see her own role – by race-baiting her political opponents – in contributing to the violence that took place last week.

Pelosi is actually pouring gasoline on the fire once again. It was Democrats who pushed for and supported race riots over the summer all in the name of the Black Lives Matter movement. Can you imagine a Republican lawmaker coming out and saying those protesters were choosing “their blackness” over the criminal justice system?

Other High-Visibility Democrats’ Attempts to Make the Riots About Race

Totally ignoring the fact that a white, unarmed 14-year Navy veteran was shot dead while several others succumbed to medical issues as a result of the protest, former First Lady Michelle Obama claimed police responding to the riots showed more restraint than they would have had the rioters been black.

“What if these rioters had looked like the folks who go to Ebenezer Baptist Church every Sunday?” she said. “What would have been different? Seeing the gulf between the responses to yesterday’s riot and this summer’s peaceful protests and the larger movement for racial justice is so painful.”

“Peaceful protests”? Did Mrs. Obama miss the hundreds of photos and footage chronicling the “summer of love”? Or the orders by mayors of Democrat-run cities to the police to stand down? (Many members of law enforcement didn’t need to be told. They backed off of their volition out of fear of being called racist.) Is she unaware that after four straight months of civil unrest there were 19 casualties compared with five in the riots last Wednesday, which lasted a few hours?

And let’s not forget President-elect Joe “I’ll-Unify-the-Country” Biden. It was still-unanswered questions about his election that triggered the protests. That didn’t stop him from subscribing to the same false double standard as Michelle Obama.

“No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol,” he said. “We all know that’s true, and it is unacceptable.”

What’s unacceptable is his and his party’s refusal to acknowledge the reason the country is so badly broken right now. And that is because of their stubborn insistence that all Americans share their hopelessly misguided narrative that the nation is fundamentally racist.
