If the campaign season had gone the way the Democratic National Committee had envisioned it, we might very well be talking today about the “Harris-Biden” ticket. Or at least the “Harris-[Somebody]” ticket. Recall that early on, Joe Biden was being written off by pollsters, while exciting names like Beto and Bernie were on every Democrat’s lips.
But as cruel fate had it, Biden’s name ended up being the one at the top of the ticket. Or did it? Was it just a slip of the tongue or a preview of things to come when Kamala Harris spoke on Saturday of “a Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States.” It was not the first time she’s done it, either.
With only 59% of likely voters saying it’s likely Biden’s running mate will be president before the end of his four-year term, with 39% saying it’s very likely, maybe the handwriting is on the wall.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
In any case, Harris is getting some help in reordering the names on the ticket from an unlikely source. Or maybe, come to think of it, it’s a highly likely source. Watch, or read the money portion of the transcript of the statement, which follows the video:

The Harris-Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers to ensure teachers know how to support children in their classrooms and to improve support for caregivers and survivors so much more than we do now. [Emphasis added]
Then again, Biden seems to be changing the office he thinks he’s running for on a daily basis. Yesterday, he spoke about the many achievements of the Obama-Biden administration and about all they would continue to do if “we are re-elected.” In February he told an audience at a campaign stop that he was running for the U.S. Senate. Who knows? Tomorrow it may be dogcatcher.
