Sometimes Joe Biden’s verbal glitches are not the result of his tripping over his words, suddenly losing his train of thought, or a memory lapse. They are no less revealing, however, of his lack of preparedness to tackle the awesome responsibility of running a country the magnitude of the United States.
Take his performance in a one-on-one interview given on Tuesday from his basement bunker. If there was any doubt that the former vice president wasn’t working from a script prepared by his handlers, it was erased when he read aloud the incomprehensible phrase “Venezuela top line messages.” This was obviously a subhead his writers had loaded onto the teleprompter to introduce a particular talking point. It was not meant to be read aloud. As Weasel Zippers notes, it also seems to suggest he has been given the questions in advance.

Early on, when the Democrats were still hopeful that their candidate would be a Bernie Sanders or an Elizabeth Warren, they were only too happy to call out evidence of Biden’s incipient dementia. One video compiled by a YouTube channel called Rebel HQ, which describes itself to be a “central hub for progressive leaders, movements, and news,” was even titled “Biden’s Mental Decline Is an Open Secret.” Now, however, the Left is working hard to gloss over these problems. And they’re the ones who accuse Republicans of playing politics.
