DHS Raids Ilhan Omar’s Home Amid Criminal Investigation

By Rebeka Zeljko

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home was raided Monday morning by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, the Daily Caller confirmed.

“Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice,” a Department of Justice (DOJ) spokesperson told the Caller.

“This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation,” the spokesperson added.

Federal agents swarmed the congresswoman’s home amid a criminal fraud investigation into Omar’s immigration paperwork, according to Fox News. (RELATED: JD Vance Says White House Plans To ‘Go After’ Ilhan Omar For Alleged Immigration Fraud)

The Somali-born congresswoman’s records were filled out by her late father when she was a child, according to two anonymous sources who spoke to Fox News Digital.

President Donald Trump’s administration had previously indicated that it would investigate Omar. Trump and his allies have long accused Omar of committing immigration fraud by marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

In March, Vice President JD Vance said the administration “definitely” believes Omar had committed fraud and they were evaluating their options to “go after” her.

Vance later confirmed to the Caller that Omar was under investigation by the DOJ in May. (RELATED: CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Presses Ilhan Omar About Her Behavior During Trump’s State Of The Union)

“It certainly seems like something fishy is there,” Vance told the Caller. “But everyone is entitled to equal justice under the laws.”

“So we’re going to investigate it, we’re going to take a look at it. If we think there’s a crime, we’re going to prosecute that crime, and that’s something that the Department of Justice is looking at right now,” he continued.
