Democratic Candidate for Governor Funded Group That Wants To Abolish the Police
By Rebeka Zeljko
Democratic nominee for Wisconsin Governor David Crowley oversaw a $20,000 contract with a Soros-linked nonprofit that seeks to abolish the police, during his time as Milwaukee County Executive, the Daily Caller learned.
While Crowley was county executive, Milwaukee’s Office of Equity entered into a contract with the organization Race Forward. Race Forward has accepted over $2.7 million in grants from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation. Race Forward’s stated goal is “advancing racial justice in our policies, institutions and culture.” Race Forward has previously advocated for a “police-free world” and hosted a conference titled “Making Police Abolition Inevitable.” The group also claimed that the gender binary is “deeply rooted in fascism and authoritarianism.”
“We support communities and public institutions to achieve a just multiracial democratic society through governance that advances racial justice,” the website reads.
Crowley’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller.

Crowley has a long history of promoting leftist racial politics and soft-on-crime policies. In 2021, Crowley criticized golf and beer gardens as activities “predominantly supported by white users,” blaming this “racial inequity” on systemic racism. In 2019, Crowley also signaled support for halving the prison population.
Republican Wisconsin Rep. and gubernatorial nominee Tom Tiffany criticized his opponent’s track record, particularly on crime. (RELATED: Dem Governor Candidate Promised Tax Hikes Would Save His County — Here’s What Locals Got Instead)
“While David Crowley was sending taxpayer money to a group that promotes a ‘police free world,’ Wisconsin families are asking for safer streets,” Tiffany told the Caller. “My top priority as governor will be fairness, security, and empowering our police to keep our communities safe.”
Crowley will face off against Tiffany in the general election on Nov. 3.
