Man Arrested For Beating Woman Is Released From Jail, Immediately Beats Up Same Woman

A Maryland man who was arrested for domestic violence allegedly returned to his victim’s house and beat her again less than six hours after he’d been released from jail.
James Bowman III, 40, was arrested on Friday for a “domestic-related assault,” according to FOX 5 DC. Bowman allegedly punched the victim in the face and bit her hand. He was arrested and later released from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance “under the condition he does not abuse the woman,” the outlet reported. Within an hour of his release, Bowman returned to the woman’s residence in Waldorf. Bowman allegedly assaulted the woman, who was holding a toddler. Although the woman managed to escape Bowman and lock herself in a bedroom, where she called 911, he forced the door open and allegedly continued to assault her.
According to FOX 5 DC, Bowman hit the woman and struck the toddler in the forehead, causing an injury. When police arrived at the female victim’s residence, she had visible injuries and was covered in blood. Officers de-escalated the situation and learned Bowman had been arrested for allegedly assaulting the same woman less than six hours earlier.
Both the woman and the toddler were treated by EMS for their injuries. Bowman was arrested at the scene, where he was charged with assault and child abuse.
The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, WUSA 9 reported.
Following his arrest, a district court commissioner held Bowman without bond, according to FOX 5 DC and WUSA 9. On Monday, a judge ordered Bowman continue to be held without bond, both outlets reported.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed officers had responded to the incident and Bowman had been arrested in a Monday press release.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
